Microsoft Latest Update Details for Edge 111

Microsoft is now officially providing their latest update for one of the services they developed, the Microsoft Edge service now gets the latest update support with Edge version 111. Interestingly the company released this on Windows 10 and Windows 11, Saturday (18/03).

Microsoft has now officially released the latest update of the Edge 111 service, which follows Google and Mozilla which have released their latest updates. The Edge 111 service certainly brings a number of improvements and feature improvements, and one of the feature improvements provided is the Native Adobe PDF Reader service.

Why use the name from the Adobe brand? Of course there is a separate reason, Microsoft has indeed collaborated with Adobe to bring the PDF Reader feature in Edge 111. This will provide a better experience for reading PDF documents directly through Edge.

"As part of the Adobe and Microsoft collaboration to re-envision the future workplace and your digital experiences, we are natively embedding the Adobe Acrobat PDF engine into the Microsoft Edge built-in PDF reader, with a release scheduled in March 2023. "

To get the changes provided by Microsoft, then users must first set some settings such as the Policy that is present in version 111. 0.1661.44. Here's the list:

  • ShowAcrobatSubscriptionButton– Shows button on native PDF viewer in Microsoft Edge that allows users to sign up for Adobe Acrobat subscription
  • NewPDFReaderEnabled– Microsoft Edge built-in PDF reader powered by Adobe Acrobat enabled
Other capabilities are rumored to be released to the Edge 111 version, such as the PDF edit feature with different conversions to Edit with Acrobat.

"Administrators can start testing the new Microsoft Edge PDF reader which is powered by the Adobe Acrobat PDF engine by enabling the NewPDFReaderEnabled policy."

Now with this, it is very likely that the two Policies are not available today, but will be released in the next few days. But in our opinion, this Policy will be released in versions 112 and 113 later.

Meanwhile, the happy news is that Microsoft Edge 111 was released not only for those Windows 11 users but for Windows 10 users as well. Windows 10 will get the latest support like Bing Desktop Search through this latest update.
